We just got the new diffuser for work. It is wonderful!! There is no tube to clog up. Just pour in water and the oils and go. Kim
*** *** *** There is one thing that no one has mentioned about the diffusers. I purchased the new one and I currently have two of the old ones. I have one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom which put them at either end of the house. They are a lot noisier than the new one but the old ones were meant to cover more area. The new diffuser is a Room diffuser, however I put it in the kitchen with Citrus Fresh in it and could smell it in my office which is next to the bathroom at the other end of the house. Now we do have air conditioning in the house and that could have carried the fragrance further but I did not get the fragrance from the old diffuser in my office. So bottom line, I am now going to purchase another one to replace the one in the bathroom. I really like how quiet they are, they can be set to automatically shut off with several different settings without having to have a separate timer. They will also shut off if they run out of water although I haven't had to test that occurrence yet. I guess I really like the puff of nano-molecules that are exhibited (Mark's words not mine) the lights can be on or off. So now you have just a few comments to the affirmative. Janet B *** *** ***
The new diffuser is not just a room scenter. It's designed to cover 2000 sq. ft. per the rep. I spoke with at convention. I purchased it and sure enough, in our small home (less than 2,000), you can smell the aroma everywhere! I love it and the lights and silence. The one featured at Abundant Health looks identical to YL's newest diffuser. And note that even tho' AH states it adds humidity to the air, that is a false statement. There is no measurable humidity being produced even tho' water is in the unit. Again, verified from the rep. at convention and from "feeling" for any dampness on my own unit. The only thing I can add is that AH obviously is priced more attractively. Sue Olmos, MEd, CTPM *** *** *** I have several of the old style diffusers, and I have a new style. I personally like both, but if I were to purchase any more, they would be the new style diffusers. First, the old style has to be cleaned out when you change oils. Secondly, you can't use some of the thicker oils. They clog up the small tubes or holes for the oils to diffuse out of. Third, they have easily broken parts (like the glass nebulizer). Fourth, if you weren't careful, you might drip oils on your furniture (which takes the varnish off) The new style diffuser can be used with any oil (including the thick ones). They are extremely quiet, (although I actually liked the old models for the "white noise" aspect while I slept.) The new style is easy to load (without any of those pesky spills), easy to modify the speed, one cup of water with a few drops of oil goes a long way, and the size of the oil particles is so small, it seems like the oil is much easier to smell, or lasts longer. Finally, if I get a little stuffed up in my nasal passages, I can easily just perch for a moment over the steam spout and immediately clear my stuffed head. Terry Price *** *** ***
Hello Everyone, At the Product Expo at convention, I spoke with Bill McGilvray (one of the developers of the new diffuser) and asked him about the difference between the new Young Living diffuser and other ones on the internet (including the one being sold at Abundant Health) which appear to be exactly the same. Bill told me that while they look the same on the outside, the ones on the internet are the original prototype from the manufacturer and that the one available from Young Living is a new model which was designed, at Young Living’s request, to be unique and superior. Compared to the prototypes, the new Young Living diffuser is more efficient, doesn’t beep, has colored lights (not just blue) which can be turned off and each unit is tested individually, as opposed to random testing in the prototypes. Another important factor Bill mentioned in relation to the prototype vs the new YL model is that the 1st generation models ran at 1.6 MHz, with water droplet size of about 10 microns. That was too big, so they changed to 2.7 MHz, which was not reliable. Then they changed to 2.4 MHz and got the best reliability vs water droplet size. He said that Diffuser World: ( http://tinyurl.com/5vo7vw ) is still selling old stock 1.6 MHz units. Those units come in blue-gray or black. Other units sold on the internet come in other colors. Young Living’s unit is light green. Perhaps, the different incarnations of this diffuser can be distinguished by color. In any event, according to Bill, nobody but Young Living sells the newest, improved model. Bill also mentioned that it is VERY important to unplug the unit when filling with water. If one fills the unit with water while it is plugged in, the machine could be ruined. Fragrant regards, Barbara 3)Testimonial Contest Do you have a great story to tell? We have first aid kits all over the place - in the car, on our boat, in the dinghy and inside the "ditch bag". This last bag we keep on hand for the ultimate emergency, when there is no other choice but to leave your boat and jump in a life raft. Hopefully it never happens but when it does, I will have my oils with me. Can you imagine having to deal with wounds, cuts, scrapes, bruises, fainting, broken bones, heart attacks, sunburns, insect bites and anxiety without the proper remedies at hand. This is where I find essential oils to be at there Olympic best. I give them the Gold Medal for size and speed of use. (I know a lot of athletes use them too!) So you can't quite fit every oil on the market in that small first aid kit. Which ones to choose? 5 ml bottles of essential oil will be very helpful. You could also use small 2 ml bottles, which are easily ordered, and fill them with your favorite oils, since you won't pull out the first aid kit that often. Here are some must haves: Lavender - Unlimited possibilities, when in doubt, use Lavender. Of course, let it be a pure one, Lavendula augustifolia, that is organically grown and therapeutic grade. Great as a first aid for bruising, cuts, scrapes and burns. Melaleuca - Tea Tree oil. Highly antiseptic and pretty mild to the skin. A therapeutic grade can be used undiluted on cuts and scrapes. Follow with some Vaseline or ointment to soften a wound and seal in the Melaleuca Purification blend - A blend specific to Young Living essential oils, essential for insect bites, poison ivy and oak. Lemon - A major disinfectant, don't use directly on wounds, more around the area. Put in sprays, added to distilled water. Great emergency oil to purify water. If you can call gum in hair an emergency then Lemon, dropped directly on the gummy mess will dissolve the gum immediately.
And here are some could haves: Peace & Calming - Another Young Living blend to calm anxieties. Helpful in panicky situations on children and pets. PanAway - Powerful blend to help ease intense pain of broken bones, slamming a finger between the door and twisted joints. Peppermint - Soothes digestive problems, think of cramps or diarrhea. Also great to break a fever in kids. Apply a few drops diluted with some oil or Vaseline to the feet. Or dip a washcloth in water with a few drops added to it and dab over forehead and arms to soothe and cool down the body.
You should know that essential oils, because of their complex composition of healing molecules, have numerous actions. If you happen to have only two oils in your pocket at the time of an emergency or accident, and you are the person called upon to give first aid, use a few drops of the oils on the feet of the injured person. At a minimum you may help improve the circulation and oxygen to the blood and calm anxieties. Two great kits available from Young living are the Essential 7 Kit which includes 5ml bottles of: Lavender, Peppermint, Lemon, Purification, PanAway, Joy and Peace & Calming. (Retail $90.46, Wholesale $68.75) There is also a starter kit for new essential oil users called Start Living with Everyday Oils. It includes 5ml bottles of Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, Purification, Valor, Thieves, Peace & Calming and Panaway oil blend. ($150 which automatically creates a wholesale member) If you don't have a first aid kit, but keep all those tools in your purse, then be sure to have some oils in your purse at all times. A few extra bottles won't take up that much more space! Happy Oiling, Yvonne Lewis *********************************** |
