1) Top Ten Make Your Own SCENTsational Holiday Gifts!

STAY CALM - SHOP AT HOME: The good news is, as a Young Living client, you can do your holiday shopping from the comfort and tranquility of your own home. With a few essential oils and some items in the pantry you are golden.

Check out the really spectacular new Seasonal Essentials Catalog

TIP: A money-saving gift idea is to split up one of the Young Living kits and give each 5 ml. oil as a separate gift in its own little pouch or gift bag. See "where to get materials" (below) for beautiful and very inexpensive pouches.

Now for your SCENTsational Holiday Creations:

  1. BATH SALTS
    • 3 parts Epsom Salt
    • 2 parts Baking Soda
    • 1 part Sea Salt

Mix together and add: Essential Oils as desired (Approx. 10 drops per 1 cup of Epsom Salt) Coloring as desired (Powdered food grade coloring works well)

  2. LIP BALM
    • 1/4 cup of herb infused oil (almond, sesame, jojoba, etc.)
    • 1/4 oz. of BeesWax

Melt the above using a double-boiler or very low heat. When beeswax is completely melted, remove from heat and allow to cool a little. Then add 10-20 drops of essential oil as desired and coloring if desired.

Beet powder and other herbs can be used for coloring.

(Increase the amount of beeswax to approx. 1/2 oz. if you like your lip balm more solid) Add to small container.

  3. BODY & DUSTING POWDER
    • 3/4 cup arrowroot powder
    • 1/4 cup cornstarch
    • 25 drops of essential oil

In a blender or with a mortar and pestle, mix very well. That's it!!!

  4. ANTI-WRINKLE BLEND
    • 2 oz. Jojoba oil
    • 25 drops of essential oils of your choice

The essential oils of lavender, geranium, neroli, rosemary, rose, and frankincense are historic "antiaging" ingredients for mature skin.

This oil may be used day or night or both for a truly enhancing and youthful appearance.

  5. SALT GLOW
    • 1/4 cup Kosher salt
    • 1/4 cup Epsom salt
    • 1/4 cup sea salt
    • 2 oz. Hazelnut or Jojoba oil
    • Approx. 20 drops essential oils of your choice (or use a blend)

Use the salt glow in the shower but be careful, the oils may make your tub a bit slippery!

  6. ALMOND / OATMEAL EXFOLIATING FACE SCRUB
    • 1/2 cup raw almonds
    • 1/2 cup ground oatmeal
    • 20-25 drops of essential oil of your choice

Grind almonds to a fine texture in a food processor or grinder, add ground oatmeal and essential oil and mix well.

Wet face. Add 1 tsp. of the scrub to your palm and moisten with water; apply to face. Massage in a circular motion over face and neck. Rinse well with cool water. Use as a regular face wash or as needed to exfoliate. Absolutely delicious!

  7. EXFOLIATING SUGAR SCRUB
    • Pour 1/4 cup of raw sugar in a bowl
    • Add 1/4 cup of sweet almond oil and stir together. If desired, add the contents of two gel-capsules of vitamin E (optional) and stir.
    • Add 10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil and stir

As with the salt scrubs, be careful in the shower. Sugar scrubs are great for sensitive skin.

  8. GEL AIR FRESHENERS
    • Dissolve two envelopes (2 Tbsp.) of unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup of boiling water (this may take up to 5 minutes)
    • Add 1/2 cup of ice-cold water to the gelatin mixture
    • Add 10-15 drops of the essential oil or blend of your choice
    • Add 3-5 drops of food coloring (if desired)

Pour the gel mixture into 2 oz. salve containers, 1/3 oz. lip gloss containers, or used baby food jars.

Close the containers or jars, and allow to cool overnight (do not place in the fridge, or your food will absorb the scent).

To use these gel air fresheners, open the container, place on a warm stove-top (not the burner) while cooking, or simply place the open container on the counter or a shelf inside your home, or in a cup-holder inside your car.

Create layered gels by filling a jar 1/2 way with one color of gel, allowing that to cool for a couple of hours, then pouring another color of gel on top of that.

  9. RELAXING MASSAGE OILS
    • Pour one ounce of pure vegetable oil in a small cup or bowl (one ounce equals 1/8 cup, 2 tablespoons, or approximately 30 ml)
    • Add 15-30 drops of your favorite essential oil or blend to the vegetable oil and stir together.

Calming or relaxing oils: cedarwood, Roman chamomile, lavender, clary sage, jasmine, myrrh, or ylang ylang.

Invigorating or energizing oils: cypress, fir, juniper, lemon, nutmeg, orange, grapefruit or peppermint.

Romantic oils: rose, jasmine, clary sage, rosewood, or ylang ylang.

  10. FUN SCENTED PLAY CLAY
  11. Kids of all ages will have hours of aromatic fun with this soft, long-lasting dough.

    • Mix 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup salt, 2 tablespoons cream of tarter, 1 tablespoon oil, and 1 cup water in a medium-sized pot until well blended
    • While stirring continuously, cook the mixture in the pot over medium-low heat until it forms a thick dough that is no longer sticky (approximately 5 minutes). You can tell it is done when it no longer sticks to the sides of the pan, but forms a clump of dough in the middle of the pan
    • Remove the dough from the pan and place on waxed-paper. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes
    • Divide the dough into four equal pieces. For each of the four pieces of dough, add approximately 10 drops of different colored food coloring, and knead until the color is well blended into the dough.
    • Add approximately 8-10 drops of different essential oils or blends to each of the four pieces of dough and knead for about 60 seconds.

Store each piece of dough in a 4 oz. salve jar, ziplock bag, or other air-tight container.

    Have Fun!

    2) Gary Young's New Blog

In case you’re wondering what Gary Young, the founder of Young Living, has been up to lately, he has started his very own blog in order to stay in touch with us.

This man travels all over the world to find new plant species and distill them into essential oils. The new Blue Eucalyptus from Ecuador is now available. Absolutely exclusive to Young Living members only!

You can add a blog to your yahoo or google mail and be updated on new entries. The address for the blog is: www.dgaryyoung.com/blog

Gary lives and farms in Ecuador and just returned from a trip to South Africa where he has been visiting distilleries and sourcing very special oils. Two weeks ago, he came out of the Amazon with many new plants to distill and evaluate.

Young Living has also built a new school near the farm in Ecuador . Gary has said that one of the projects at the school, in addition to teaching reading, writing, science, and math, is to teach the older children how to grow vegetables for their families.

The children are given a plot of land to plant, and they are allowed to take the vegetables home that they grow. This is about teaching people life skills that will sustain them forever.

3)The Essential Rewards Autoship Program - "BUY" YOUR GIFTS FROM YOUNG LIVING FOR FREE:

If you have unspent Essential Rewards Autoship credits, using them is a great way to make a dent in your holiday shopping without making a dent in your bank account.

Call Young Living at (800) 371-3515 to see how many credits you have, or contact Live Chat from the Young Living website for real-time online customer service. Just ask for your Autoship Rewards Credits. You may be surprised at how many you have. They add up really fast.

What! You're not on Autoship? Essential Rewards Autoship is a loyalty-based program in which Young Living gives substantial rewards to members who simply maintain a monthly Autoship order of $50 PV or more.

    OVERALL BENEFITS:

    • Earn product credits every month, which can be traded in for FREE PRODUCTS. The longer you stay on the program the higher the % of product credits.
    • Reduced flat rate shipping
    • Educational training CDs with every order

HOW TO EARN FREE PRODUCTS EVERY MONTH:

Young Living has created a brilliantly structured autoship program that keeps people wanting to stay on Autoship once they've tasted the rewards, by giving them what they want most: access to FREE PRODUCTS.

The longer Young Living members stay on Autoship, the more free products they earn, in addition to other benefits. These benefits are available for both Preferred Customers (Customers on Autoship) and Distributors.

You need to be on Essential Rewards Autoship for 2 months before you can redeem your credits. EXAMPLE: If you go on Autoship in April, you can spend your credits in June or later. Your credits must be spent on a regular, non-Autoship order placed with a live operator at Young Living. You pay tax and shipping. Young Living does the rest.

    • On Autoship months 1 through 6, you receive a product credit of 10%, with a maximum of 30 credits per month.
    • On Autoship months 7 through 12, you receive a product credit of 15%, with a maximum of 50 credits per month.
    • If you've been on Autoship for 13 months or more, you receive a product credit of 20%, with a maximum of 75 credits per month.

If you cancel your Autoship, you forfeit any unspent credits. If you sign up for Autoship after having been on and cancelled, you will start back on month 1, with 10% product credit. EXAMPLE: You've been on Autoship for 7 months and are now earning 15% credit each month. You cancel your Autoship and restart it again two months later. You start at receiving 10% credit again, even though you had worked up to earning 15% before.

Products purchased with Essential Rewards Autoship Points will have no PV. Thus, they do not generate volume, commissions, or bonuses.

If you are a member of our Essential-Natural-Remedies group, you may want to dive into this program a little bit more, because there are a lot of bonuses to be made. For those interested, business minded individuals, check out: The Essential Rewards Bonus Club
