Cleaning Your Electric Oil Diffuser

An electric oil diffuser is generally easy to clean and maintain.

Make sure you do the following steps on a regular basis and your diffuser will give you years of dependable use.

Diffusers with glass nebulizer and stainless steel base:

You will need some hot soapy water and regular rubbing alcohol.

  • Essential oils may get gunky after a while and clog up small parts of a glass nebulizer. I have found the best way to dissolve these are with 70% rubbing alcohol, leaving the nebulizer soaking in the solution overnight.
  • Follow this by a dip in some hot soapy water. You may have to close the openings in the glass and shake it around a bit. If the water does not get the final bits of oil resin off, do another dip in alcohol. Let dry.
  • Before adding oils back into your diffuser let the airpump run for a few minutes through the glass nebulizer to get rid of final drops of water or alcohol.
