Geranium Essential Oil
(Pelargonium graveolens)

Completes the oils now in your first aid kit. Geranium essential oil is another multi-purpose, uplifting and cleansing ingredient.

geranium plant

Botanical Family: Geraniaceae

Origin: Egypt, India

Extraction Method: Steam distilled from flowers and leaves

Uses: My first experience with this oil was in the skin care salon where it's used as a treatment for oily skin and acne. I had no idea about the concentration of essential oils then, so when told to massage a client's feet with geranium I must have used half a bottle. Needless to say, the sweet, rich smell of this remedy brings me right back to that foot massage!

In this fourth decade on earth, geranium essential oil is my top notch hormonal balancer, great for cramps, easing pre-menopausal symptoms. For this purpose I apply a drop or two to each foot before I go to bed, especially toward the last two weeks of my menstrual cycle. Try it and see if cramps around your period won't totally disappear.
