Research is pointing to some damaging ingredients in the very household products we use every day to clean our homes, our bodies, brush our teeth...actually trust on our babies skin.

Check out these common household toxins and the products they're found in:

• Sodium hypochlorite (chlorine bleach)
  Lung and eye irritant. Household bleach is the most common cleaner accidentally swallowed by children. If mixed with ammonia or acid- based cleaners (including vinegar), releases highly toxic chloramine gas. Short-term exposure to chloramine gas may cause mild asthmatic symptoms or more serious respiratory problems.(Source: Children's Health Environmental Coalition)
• Ammonia (glass cleaner)
  Lung and skin irritant. If mixed with chlorine, releases toxic chloramine gas. Short-term exposure to chloramine gas may cause coughing, choking and lung damage. Asthmatics may be particularly vulnerable to chlorine and chloramine fumes.(Source: Children's Health Environmental Coalition)
• Formaldehyde (preservative in many household products, glue in particle board and plywood furniture, carpets)
  Probable human carcinogen. Levels of formaldehyde in air as low as 0.1 ppm (0.1 part formaldehyde per million parts of air) can cause watery eyes, burning sensations in the eyes, nose and throat, stuffy nose, nausea, coughing, chest tightness, wheezing, skin rashes and allergic reactions.(Source: U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission)

What can you do? First of all get in a different frame of mind:

Now all you need is to find a way to combine the right oils with some natural base mixtures, emulsifiers and bit by bit,

• Basic Green Household Cleaner Spray
  Safely dispose of your chemical window cleaner and keep the bottle. Fill with distilled or filtered water, leave room for a quarter cup of white vinegar. Add 10 drops of Lemon, 10 drops of Eucalyptus, 5 drops of Clove and 5 drops of Cinnamon essential oils. Finally add one squirt of dishwashing liquid, mix and you are done. Your green household product genie. GO CLEAN SOMETHING!
• Toilet Bowl Cleaner
  Take a 1lb. box of Baking Soda, put into plastic sealable container. Add 20 drops of either Lemon or Melaleuca essential oil and blend well (your green household product for scrubbing purposes).
  Sprinkle a quarter cup in the toilet bowl and scrub with brush as usual. Take about a cup of white vinegar and poor into the bowl. Bubbles and effervescence. Voila, a clean bowl.
• Grout Cleaner
  Mix 1 cup of baking powder with 1/3 cup of warm water and 10 drops of Lemon essential oil. Apply and scrub with fingernail brush.
• Drain Opener
  Poor 1 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar with 10 drops of Lemon essential oil into the drain. It will totally fizz up! Let sit for one hour and flush with a mixture of hot water and salt. May have to repeat.
• Toilet Bowl Seat Back to the basic green household cleaner spray up top!
